Heelingby cresusComment: I find my eyes traveling the entire length of this image to take it in and finally coming to rest on the bow of the boat - not sure if that's good or bad. ;^) For some reason a good portion of this image seems soft, a little OOF or camera shake? The lighting also seems a bit harsh from strong midday sunlight. Early or late in the day can help add a little drama and impact. As for stopped motion, yes, it's stopped - I don't really associate sailing as something challenging to capture with concerns about speed, etc... That's just my first thought - right or wrong. Hopefully that's not impacting the voters and my thoughts are of the minority. Good luck in the challenge. |

Master of silent flightby C-FoxComment: Looks like a fun event to attend. Concerning your image, the background is way too busy and distracts from your primary subject. The owl is a little blurry (hard to freeze motion coming toward you). I don't know...overall, "ok", "fine", just not a big "WOW" in there. Sorry. Good luck in the challenge. |

Rusty Wineby Jason_CrossComment: Squish! Time for new white bg material. ;^) Image is fine. Certainly stopped the motion...the spray is well defined and sharp. Nice to see a hammer being used on something other than a lightbulb - I'll give you creative points for that. He-he. Good luck. |

Cooling Offby L1Comment: Can't tell if the water is going in or coming out of his mouth. ;^) I guess that's good - means you've stopped the motion very well. Black and White is fine although it seems the range is a little short, leaning heavier toward the dark end of the scale. Good luck in the challenge. |

Rushby elsapoComment: This is very nice. Staged or not, it's a great capture and meets the theme of the challenge head on. You've done a wonderful job with exposure and getting a nice sharp image. The color tone selected works quite well and the range is well covered. Congratulations on a job well done! |

Caught Mid-Yawnby LoreneComment: Cute picture. Kind of just "ok" for the 'Stopped Motion' theme IMO. It looks like the paws are in sharper focus than the eyes and mouth area. Good idea to rotate this - the angle works quite well. Good luck in the challenge. |

Ice Diveby pacpintoComment: This is too funny. I just finished commenting on a similar shot just before this one. My 'random order' doesn't seem random enough...or there's just a lot of water splash shots? ;^)
This is unique and should do well. The underside bubbles are really sharp and well focused. That area of the image almost looks like mercury. Not sure about the ice. In comparison to the rest of the image that hunk of ice is kind of soft and dull. Nothing personal. Should do fairly well with this. Good luck. |

splash!by I Enjoy HamComment: Hey, now here's a different take on a fairly common subject (water splashes). It's kind of neat how you have a smooth water trail behind the quarter, and the sideways "splash" is very cool. Good job and good luck in the challenge. |

The Bowlby cadbikeComment: The head and shoulders are stopped well. Some motion blur evident in the feet and hands. I like the way you've composed this and the shadows add an interesting dimension. Good luck. |

Play stoped in motionby facesastheycomeComment: Cute kid. ;^) I think many voters are probably looking for a more challenging subject for the 'Stopped Motion' theme. JMO of course. Best of luck in the challenge. |
