submission #78by swankFotoComment: Funny. I was going to comment that there are certainly going to be unbelievers on the validity of this image, and there it is - the validation stamp. ;^) I finally have a lens that I can zoom while capturing an exposure and had a chance to play with it the other day. I recognized this in your image immediately.
I really like the choice you made to do this. Yes the yellow is quite bright, but it helps balance out the darker tones around the sides. The streaks at the bottom around the persons legs are wonderful. Did I mention that I like this? :D
Good luck in the challenge. It will be interesting to see where you end up. |

Simple pleasure!by kbhatia1967Comment: Simple, convincing, fun to look at in an abstract way. The B/W tone works well with this. Good luck in the challenge. |

Destination Storm Drainby just_meComment: My favorite for this challenge. The red is a nice color pop for what can be a dreary theme (Rain). The storm drain is a convincing touch that you really were out in rainy conditions. Well, I suppose you could fake this shot, but unlikely with that much running water. ;^) The POV you've taken positions the leaf in a prominent location and the lines of the grate work well in the diagonal as you've put them. Nicely done. Good luck in the challenge. |

shroom.jpgby magenmarieComment: You should have flipped it over!!! :D
That's a fine edge you have on DOF with this shot. Did a nice job of blurring out the bg that way.
I would have been tempted to zero in on that lower-left corner and get a shot of the dew covered grass with the mushroom (really low angle to get the fins) as the background. Maybe toss a star filter on for good measure. ;^)
Smile and keep having fun! |

noilednaDby morg002Comment: Hold this title up to a mirror and you'll figure it out. Clever. ;^) Or, you could just read backwards. He-he. This is certainly a macro image. Can't get much closer than you have. It's interesting and has a nice pattern to it. Seems soft from where I see it, but could be this work monitor. Best of luck to you in the challenge. |

Deep Blueby RentrenzComment: Don't know what it is, but it's very interesting to look at! The color tone is wonderful. Not sure about the focus on this. The back right area is sharply focused but the immediate foreground and middleground seem soft and blurry. If this was focused all the way thru or at least the key front areas, it would be near the top when this challenge is over. As is, it should do alright - just missing that fine attention to detail. Good luck in the challenge. |

"A hive of colours"by ThaiComment: You didn't go out a buy a new set of pencils just for this challenge - did you? ;^) Just pulling your leg, been there, done that myself. This is a good choice of subject for the challenge. A bit static and maybe a little short on the "wow" factor - but it should do "ok". I think an even tighter framing with 8 full ends showing might have had more impact. Anyway, good luck in the challenge. |
