Still? Lifeby MarkRobComment: Most odd - great shot, superb idea and the composition works... (10) |

Standing Tallby spillerComment: Great shot… The composition is good, but what grabs me is the slightly yellowish tint to the sky; it gives the shot a solid balance colour wise. DOF is slightly weak; perhaps reducing the F value so that the background and the far barrels were completely out of focus – or the other way round – would have help. Purely a suggestion – still works well (8) |

Nature's Wasteby jpooleComment: Unusual concept, but it is valid. This is a great use of negative space, DOF and colour. The composition has a cold, grey feel that heralds the onset of winter. The golden red colour of the leaves compliments the overall image to good effect. The more one looks, the more one is drawn to the sense of movement within the image and a feeling of inevitable decay. I'd guess this wasn't an easy shot to get right, but your technique has served you well. Great photography. (10) |

Garbage Canby BAMartinComment: Everything about this shot screams out class – with one exception; the people in the shot kill it almost stone dead… The composition with the bin, the winding path, the colour – in fact, in every other aspect it's a potential high scoring shot. However, the people are the first thing I see when I look at the shot and I don't even think you wanted them there… The draw away is being caused by the angles within the picture focussing – like cross hairs - the attention towards the splash of colour (red in this case) that isn't the intended subject… Without the people, 9 (10 even), with the people, sorry, (4)… I think the subliminal effect here could cause this shot to wind up with a fairly low score… Keep shooting… |
