Night & Dayby scalvertComment: Hey Shannon, great idea to flip this shot, but c'mon man, you need some graduated neutral density filters! :-) |

Mystery Rock by bryanbrazilComment: Hehe, I thought about that. But I never sell any prints on DPC Prints anyway. And it's only one photo. I have hundreds of Death Valley photos, some of which are probably better than this one. Oh, and if anyone does want to buy a calendar (featuring "Mystery Rock"), I have them available here: //www.deviantart.com/print/399331/. I'm giving them away as Christmas gifts this year.

Pull that file! You're giving away a beautiful photo for no good reason. I'd hate to see you go into a store and see your image on a calendar - when you didn't get a dime for it.
I appreciate your thoughtfulness and the intent of your post - you are a credit to DPC. | Message edited by author 2006-11-08 18:44:52. |

Fannette Islandby bryanbrazilComment: You're totally right, I thought about that after uploading, but never got around to fixing it. Thanks for the constructive comment!
Originally posted by Bear_Music: Nicely seen. You have a problem in that you've thrown the sky to magenta but you didn't pick that up in the reflection, so it's especially unnatural looking. The very foreground feels too bright to me also, it's leading my eye down and out. I'd have tossed a gradient on there to contain it and force my eyes into the distance of this remarkable scene. |

Streamlinesby NeilComment: Wow, I was pretty sure I'd be battling this photo for a ribbon. Great shot, awesome detail and color, should have placed higher in my opinion. |

Mystery Rock by bryanbrazilComment: Yeah, the road is pretty bad, although right now all the roads in Death Valley have recently been graded and are in the best condition they've been in years. I didn't get any flats on the road, but I did spend several hours helping some people from New York that got two flat tires in their rental 4X4. They never did make it to the Racetrack! Incidentally, after making it back to the paved road, I got a flat tire after about a mile. It was just a nail and not a rock puncture, so my tire was OK. I guess there really is such a thing as karma!

Mystery Rock by bryanbrazilComment: No fisheye here. I was using my 10-22 about a foot from the rock.
Originally posted by mpeters: Congrats. This place is so unbelievably flat that the fisheye provides a great dynamic. |

Apparitionby bryanbrazilComment: Uh, no clouds superimposed...
