The Purple One Today?by KylieComment: odd. but VERY effective - with the colors being so strange, it becomes and abstract pattern focused around the guy - |

Flower Girlby JesuispeureComment: Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful - such a nicely balanced photo between the flowers and the smile. |

Red Day Lily 2by Crafty SueComment: uh oh - monitor calibration issues here - I don't see any texture in the background at all. Good thing I never vote from the laptop. I'm wondering if many others see only white in the background as well. Might explain the poor showing of a nice image. |

Graveyardby emorgan49Comment: Sorry to all about the gratuitous American Flag. The two kids who were killed were friends of my son from Kilo company 3/6 marines. Purely a personal statement. Message edited by author 2004-07-08 11:41:20. |

Something fishyby dorinnComment: Almost but not quite..Some interesting things going on here though - the best is the lines, the wood and the lines of sauce on the plate and the grill lines on the fish, They all compliment eachother and tie the picture together. However all the lines point off screen, and lead the voters eyes out. Hr just thinks "Ok, done, next?" |

An Invitationby admart01Comment: Nice composition, interesting DOF, drab colors, needs something more to give it some punch and make it not boring - maybe saturate the color of the stamens and make them compete with the in focus petal for the center of attention. maybe lighten up the green of the background? Make it more high key? What about converting to black and white? |

Barnstormerby dsa157Comment: Do we have a winner? This photo is classic - talk about leading lines - the smoke trail goes up and back down and straight at us - rule of thirds - contast of textures: smoke, sky, plane - soft background, sharp object - sepia tone to match the era that the plane is from. Yep, it's just perfect in every way- 10 of course. |
