Marble Meets Marbleby scalvertComment: I really like this idea. I think I would've liked it better if the surface had been pure white. The lighting is perfect. |

Silent Flowby Pug-HComment: The basin is too dark for my liking. Better lighting to bring out the "ripple wave" would have improved this shot. |

All legsby virtuamikeComment: This is why I loved the 80's. I can remember being a young man walking by the local aerobics studio and just standing and staring. Deserved to be at least a 6 overall. I probably would have given you a 7, two bonus points for the girl- 9.
Lighting is good. Almost a couple of blown highlights, but controlled very well. Nicely set up, nice PP.

Saving Private Ryanby judojoeComment: First let me say I would've given you a "1" here's why
1) They didn't have M-16's in WWII
2) A couple of these guys look British- one appears to be carrying an SA80- also not around in World War II.
3) The sand is clearly out of scale with the rest of the image
4) Ever since Toy Story I get the willies just seeing these guys
5) The helmet for the guy on the left is just all wrong, wrong wrong wrong!
Okay, so now you're saying- what a D***. In reality I like the shot, it clearly took some planning and thought. I like the shallow DOF adds to the illusion. I probably would have given you a 7 just for making me laugh and then a bonus of 1 for coming up with the idea, so an 8. Hopefully when you read #4 you picked up on the joke before calling me names. Keep shooting and having fun with it. DPC needs more out of the box thinkers- in fact everywhere does.

Body & Linesby hannekeComment: I like this shot. Dark, lighting is great, leaves alot to the imagination- maybe too much for some people.
I think one thing that may have hurt it a little in the challenge is that it is a little out of the box for lines. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a great entry for this challenge (certainly meets challenge), but somehow I'd bet that a few of those two's, three's or fours were looking for "LINES!!!" and didn't find them here.
I didn't vote in this challenge- Lazy, lazy, lazy. I would've probably given you an 8 on this. In looking at the challenge there are at least 6 images that scored way too low (at the same time I see that many that think scored high). |

In the Calm of Nightby Nikonian NinjaComment: Since you were nice enough to mark my last comment as helpful, I'll give a real comment on this one.
I'd probably take out the light pole in the back. I think it would still be okay, even with a phantom light source at the back- might even be the moon, who would know. In addition I'd probably play with levels a little, go for a little overall darker and tighten up the contrast a little. I like the framing, nice shot, fairly moody as is (hazy night?) Just some of my personal opinions.

Dredge Ship 2by rox_roxComment: This has a very "other world" feel to it. It's almost like the ship is about to be sucked up into space never to be seen again.
