I had some horrendous problems buying some soldiers for this Challenge.
And when I finally got some I only had about 5 minutes to get my shot.
looking at it I thought it was a great idea, but I am dissapinted my Macro Lense didnt give me a bit more Depth of Field.
At least the Sniper is in Focus

First let me say I would've given you a "1" here's why

1) They didn't have M-16's in WWII
2) A couple of these guys look British- one appears to be carrying an SA80- also not around in World War II.
3) The sand is clearly out of scale with the rest of the image
4) Ever since Toy Story I get the willies just seeing these guys
5) The helmet for the guy on the left is just all wrong, wrong wrong wrong!

Okay, so now you're saying- what a D***. In reality I like the shot, it clearly took some planning and thought. I like the shallow DOF adds to the illusion. I probably would have given you a 7 just for making me laugh and then a bonus of 1 for coming up with the idea, so an 8. Hopefully when you read #4 you picked up on the joke before calling me names. Keep shooting and having fun with it. DPC needs more out of the box thinkers- in fact everywhere does.

Great job! I've voted this up, and then voted it down, then voted it up again, and now I'm voting it up once more. I love the light-hearted humor in this, the remebrance of childhood that it inflicts, and it's originality in light of the challenge's theme. I can remember my brother bringing his toy soldiers to the beach with him and setting them up, which is why this meets the challenge in my eyes. I'm giving you an 8 for this one. It's not the most beautiful of shots in this challenge, but you deserve a score for meeting the challenge, and for the entertainment factor that this one gave me.

The DOF is too shallow. Makes the closest figure a little distracting. Otherwise nice composition. The hit soldier on the left adds a lot to this set up.

good set up. I like the DOF fade which suggests more of the people.

Hmmm...? Usually I don't like 'staged' photos...but...I like this one...a lot! It shows creativity and thought. Plus, the movie is one of the handful I've seen. It was a gripping movie and should be mandatory viewing for every American...thanks for the photo.
