Finished by rcrawfordComment: Good composition, nice feeling, meets challenge. Like the duotones. |

Something Oldby sulamkComment: This is a picture of a picture. Several in this genre have been submitted for this challenge. I find the attempt to make it more than just a rendition of a picture, i.e. the medals, not successfully done. |

Vintage FMby mcmurmaComment: Like the hand. Definitely something old here. Don't particularly care for the darks at the top and at the right. |

Office 1915by waltomlComment: Beautiful image. Enjoy looking at this and definitely will revisit lateron this week. Love the warm light of the image. It creates a nice intimacy and a real nostalgic longing for the good old past. Well, well done! |

The old ladies homeby AzrifelComment: Het begeinenhuis! (or is begijnenhuis?). Oddly enough, this building looks so new on this picture!!! :) I know these places and I know the date is genuine and know also that they are really old and wonderful. So, it struck me as very funny. The only thing that really bothers me are the bits of the two windows on the right; would have cropped them out as it mars the composition. Ditto for the whie shape in the black overture of the gate. Daaaaag! :) |

The Tipton Place by indigo997Comment: I'm happy for you with your excellent score. This is a fine picture and you have reason to be proud. I will tell you what happened to me on this picture. In my first complete round of voting this one was my top pick. I had given it a nine with the idea to make it a 10 when tweaking the vote. When I saw it again lateron in the week, I was really bothered by the lines on the building. It seemed as if the image had been oversharpened. I would like to hear from you whether that was the case. Then I turned the picture into an 8. Sorry :). Anyway, great picture!!! I do think the fence and the colors and the whole setting is just wonderful. My advice: shoot what feels right to YOU. As you well know, one gets a bunch of totally contradictory opinions. So what?! |

perseveranceby oniComment: I like the post processing that makes the trees in background go white. The problem with it though is that it makes the darks very dark without much definition. |

My Friendsby daysezComment: Don't care for the post processing. Gives the image a flat greyish look and the shadows are muddy and unreal. Composition is too static as well. Sorry. |
