MMMMM Good Pencilby waltomlComment: Looks like a well trained cat. He doesn't seem so much to eat and chew on the pencil as just holding it since his owner told him to do so. It is a nice image; good lighting on the cat; good framing of the picture. It falls in the range of "cute pet" pictures for me though of which I have seen thousands. 6 Journey |

American Classic #2by RoninComment: Doesn't do much for me. It reads like a snapshot. Sorry but that's just my own opinion. Journey |

Writing draftby prkembyComment: This image reflects a nice sensitivity and invokes a nice mood. Unfortunately, it does not "grab" me. Having meaningful text would have helped. Am bothered that the first thing (i.e. the foreground) is the shadow of the pencil. The light in the background right corner doesn't quite work either. There is a softness and graininess to the overall image but that may be a reflection of the quality of your camera. Journey |

family outingby queen 91Comment: Well done! This is well thought out and put together. Presume the background is a picture or postcard and the foreground is perhaps a piece of wood. Original and good sense of humor. Those pencils DO feel like a family! :) Journey |

Storageby MrsKroComment: This picture has a lot of clarity and presents a very clean image. Love the detail in the hair. Good composition. Creative use of the pencil. I love the B&W. 8 Journey |

Leaden Smolders Above the Restby karmatComment: I just knew that someone would submit a pencil on fire. The effect of the pencils en masse is very nice. So, is the burning pencil. Overall though when I look at this I find the image rather contrived and say "So what?". What's the photographer trying to convey other than presenting me with some cool effects. 5 Journey |

Dinnerby spillerComment: This is very good and well executed image. The clarity is superb and so is the composition. Unfortunately, the imagery is not my cup of tea (I mean the animal toy/sculpture) and therefore it mars my viewing enjoyment. So my vote reflects my personal taste. Sorry. Will revisit this lateron in the week. 6 Journey |

dry with two olives pleaseby TerryGeeComment: Wow, that's beautiful. I'm very impressed. Just love that light play in the glass. Ditto on the rim of the glass. Love the colorationof the pencil. Great composition. This is going to be oneof my favorites this week. An 8 for now (my max on the first round of voting); will revisit this lateron this week. Congrat on a superb image. Journey |

NO. 2 in Tutu on Pointeby crisa58Comment: Good title (hope everybody gets it). The picture is silly and actually quite meaningless but fun. I find the tablecloth acting as the background a little too heavy and overwhelming. A black solid background would have worked better I think. Also find the reflection of the pencil and tutu a bit too much. Did you consider cropping just below the point? Fun idea though. |
