Cool! That guy standing and looking at the 'bus' is an important element to make this picture. Love the 'bus' and the other colors. 10 Journey

Beautifully controlled shot. The detail of the foreground and the bridge, etc, makes the speeding train even more mysterious. Lovely colors. 10 Journey

I'll be darned, not a macro! And i resent the fact that you proclaim that out of principle you never crop and then end up doing it big time. Whenever i was working on my pictures, i recalled that post and felt so pitiful that i needed to resort so often to cropping.
Funny too, that Gordon said that the saturation hurts his eyes. I really love the colors and it was me who criticized Rockwell's colors :) Thx for the channel mixer tip; for pictures, i tended to use hue/sat.

Oh, paganini, YOU did this shot? That pleases me to no end!!! I knew of course that this came from a Canon but i was suspecting it was Dadas or Gordon since they both have that great 200mm lens. But since i knew they had both read the Velvia thread they would understand the joke (it was a joke, hope you realize that). I have never given a 10+ to any picture. This is my favorite of all pictures at dpc ever! I am really not a silly goose but this picture is so beautiful, it delights me so that it brings tears to my eyes looking at it. You are such a 'technical' guy (not a put down by any means, merely an observation) but this picture shows that you're really moving around in the domain of Art. I have thought a lot about this picture this week and fully intended to make whoever did this my one and only (so far) favorite photographer. So, there you go! I suspected this picture was too sophisticated to win but that it didn't make the top 10-20 is truly pathetic :) Sorry for writing this book! Btw, did i tell you i LOVE this picture?

Well Jubei, i feel you deserve a ribbon more than that other shot (although i gave 10s to both) as technically this is far by the more demanding of the two shots and imho the more sophisticated.. I read some comments here about the shadows; didn't bother me at all, just loved the detail on the beak. Anyway, still a good score and a great picture (which is the most important).

Cool expressions, nice portraits. I like the subtle minimalism here with a lot of white space. Also like the blurred drop shadows, looks like you used a gradient? even though it caused some banding. 7 Journey

Don't quite understand it, must be Existentialism :) It's dark and gloomy; i like it. I like how you used that cross and the very blurred image to capture the 'demise'. Don't you know blurred images get creamed at dpc? :) Haunting portrait in the middle. Love how everything is black and white except for those blue, blue eyes. These people seem very icelandic to me. Are you who i think you are? 9 Journey
Upped to a 10 - love the artisticity of this image.

Entertaining. Effective multi-image because it shows the sequence of events. Tough pictures to crop (guy in left pic has his head chopped off a little). Nice pics, love the splash on the right. It's rather skimpy on the layout side since you must have opted for max. image sizes and it makes it look like a movie clip. Would have liked to see some bg space between the pics and that cool title on the bg. Would have been enough space if you had cropped the boat off??? 7 Journey
