I am learning to really do all of the photography stuff. Although I personally like the soft focus, I have learned that it isn't a favorite with a lot of people. I do tend to rely on the camera too much, however I have finally enrolled in a photography course that I hope will improve my skill.

I took my skylight filters off. I have read that they tend to cause a soft focus and I haven't really sharpened anything in post processing. On the picture above how much sharpening would you recommend. I ask so that I can get an idea for what it is that I am missing.

I really appreciate your comments here. It is a lot easier for me to learn from comments like this, than simple on liners that just point out what is a problem to someone else. Does that make sense?
