| 03/23/2007 10:34:32 AM | Flying birdie...by asimchoudhriComment: I love this shot, maybe because I paticularly enjoy seeing birds in photos. They aren't easy thats for sure.
Anyway, there is some things with this photo that I think could really make it stand out more. One, the flat blue sky needs a bit more of a saturation punch. Then the bird is sitting to dark, and without that beautiful definition you can see only when squinting. Both are easy fixes, with a variety of different techniques. I think you would gain a lot by making the fixes, this photo is awesome. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/23/2007 10:27:37 AM | Neds Point Lighthouseby CapeSailComment: Amazing look! It caught my eye, amongst a whole page of other photos. I seen Bear Music's advice photo, and I must admit I like the comp he used. I would also add to his, just a smidgin of dodge/clone.
I've been using some new techniques for my grainy skies, you know to smooth em out a little. It works to a moderate extent, I would share the technique if your interested. (I call it new, probably not, but something I have just recently realized, LOL.) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/22/2007 11:04:27 AM | Old Barnby cryanComment: I'm not a huge IR fan...a bit too fantasy for me most of the time. The contrast is very cool, and the sky is awesome. Yeah, there is a bit of a grain to the sky I wish was smoother, but thats probably more persoanl preference than anything.
Recently I've started playing with a layer of gaussian blur in my skies when they do this to achieve a more smoother look. I doubt you're interested but if you are, I would be glad to share the technique, just hollar. Great photo! | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/22/2007 10:53:33 AM | Tulipby mia67Comment: Yes, yes, yes. I love the simplicity, and I love the way it seems to taunt the viewerw with only a glimpse. The desaturation works, and the shadows are cool.
Nothing I can think of would make this a better photo for me, you did an absolutely stunning job. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/22/2007 08:27:56 AM | Otter Creekby BAMartinComment: Hello Barbara. I like your shot here, and I'm pretty sure I've stood where you are standing in this. Moose Falls, i think, I lived there last fall for 3 months. Swam, played, jumped off the edge of the waterfall, and even got a couple photos.
Anyway, I think you lost some clarity somewhere along the line, because it seems to lack focus. The shot is still very, very pretty and serine, but that hardcore sharpness is lacking. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/21/2007 10:23:16 PM | What are you looking at? by LalliSigComment: It was certainly my favorite. I love this because it seems to be more innocent, and harmless, and funny.
Some of the others just irritated me, and quite frankly made me want to vomit. No offense to any of the others, the challenge was difficult in that manner, and I made my mistakes just the same @ 47%.
The way you coordinated, executed, and held the grace is awesome. Something of creativiy for sure it shows amazing artistic abilities, and awesome talent. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/21/2007 08:23:30 AM | The Barnby BenComment: I love the way you kept the details, and still managed to see the sun star. Overall the photo taps my endless curiosity, and adventure. I wonder if any more details could be brought out with dodge/clone. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/20/2007 12:46:04 PM | Youthby TychoComment: Amazing photo, but I have to -1, for those un-naturally over-processed eyes. I understand that they may not of been over-processed, but in that case you should of toned them down with your advanced editing leverage. They just appear way over-bearing, and distracting. Great looking model. And overall an 8. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/20/2007 12:39:07 PM | Something Askewby Sunshine86Comment: Great color portrait. I love the tilt on the wall, but I'm guessing alot of people wont. The portrait works well with me, I think you did a fantastic job of coordinating the mood. GL. -8 | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 03/20/2007 12:36:36 PM | Me, my camera and my umbrella against darknessby redpandaComment: A tad bit goofy, but I love humor, and I love this shot. I also love the way it makes me feel guilty for calling it goofy. Its sort of goofy, in a serious, great photo type of way. My fav so far, excellent job, and superior creativeness. 9+ | Photographer found comment helpful. |
