nice idea, but needs work in post production. first, don't be afraid to crop. all that stuff that's not part of the action needs to go. secondly, there are a ton of tools that you can use to bring out the image, to reveal the details in the shadows. you're on the right track, but you really have to work at it if your going to get the most out of what your camera can do...

nice idea, but too soft and way too much wasted space. it looks a lot better to me if you cropped it horizontal, coming all the way down to just under the top of the ball..

most of the time, the difference between a good shot and a great shot is how it's cropped. this is a little league shot that needs a big league crop. great colors, great perspective, wonderful moment, nice composition, and, too, too, too much wasted space that distracts from your subject. crop down to just above the kid's glasses, crop into the arms, crop up to the bottom of the ball, and WOW - a completely different image!

sorry, but this is boring. it's a snapshot of a crew team. if you want to score better, you need to show me something i'm not going to see from the riverside. either use a longer lens to take me all the way out there, or go down to the dock and get some close up action. nice colors, and maybe a nice print, but not a high-scorer at dpc...

sorry, but this doesn't work for me at all. the tilt is too extreme to do anything but make me feel like i'm hurtling towards a crash. very nice control on the pan, but not enough to overcome the uneasiness i'm getting.

why? why this image instead of waiting a quarter second or a half second? it also seems a little soft and flat. a little more post-processing (even in basic editing) could have done wonders.
