Sorry, I'm with the voters and not with the last commenter - there's no frame as described by the challenge:
"Capture an image where the foreground subject frames the rest of the image."
Other than that, its a nice photograph.
Did you try any alternative crop?

Nice photograph with a message
Good use of shallow DoF
Nicely lit
Good composition
The only reason I think it scored lower than it should have, is that its taken on a bland background. A bright red background with focused studio lighting seems to do better on dpc.

Poppy Popping Through the Grapevine Wreathby Joy MooreComment: Greetings from the critique club.
I like the complementary colors and the nice framing.
What's holding this back is how busy it appears. The poppy does not stand out from the leaves, thus not creating enough impact.
Hope this helps. Good luck in the future. |

What a creative use of shadows! I "Got it" at first glance, wouldnt recommend trying to make it more obvious as commented by some others.
Congratulations on well executed photograph. Thanks for sharing.

Shadow of Hopeby bryantbusComment: Greetings from the critique club
Wow! I am amazed by the creativity and effort put into this photograph.
The only nitpick I have is: The red circled text draws attention to what is written inside the circle, which somewhat distracts the viewer. I feel that the creative use of shadows stands out on its own, and does not need the circled text to make an impact.
Congratulations on a well done photograph!

King of the Mountainby 3eyedcrowComment: Greetings from the critique club.
I like the composition and colors, and the creative use of shadow.
Should've scored better, if you ask me.
The only thing I would change is the crop, to make it more square. |

Egyptian Love Potionby smilebig4me1xComment: Greetings from the critique club
I like the complementary colors in the subject, and the composition. It would have done better in any other challenge - but this one was more about the shadow, and getting creative with it.
I see you've taken this at a low ISO setting, but still the shadow appears a bit noisy - i wonder if it was caused by sharpening.
Hope this helps. Good luck! |
