The Drinking Straw by aKiwiComment: Wow, this is truly fabulous. I love the lighting, colors, and textures. Particularly interesting is the way the light leaves streaks along the inside of the straws. The only thing that bugs me is the bit of fuzz on the second straw from the left side on the middle row. If the image was a tiny bit tidier with respect to that and the very slight noise present, I'm thinking it could be a 10. I say 9. |

Lightbulb is on!by TaikimonsterComment: Brilliant! (doh! no pun intended) It took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at. This is so original and just plain cool to look at. Slightly noisy image, but not too bad. 8. |

Andy the squirrelby cbellerComment: Fabulous photo. Perfect focus, the eyes are nice and sharp. Cute pose. Nice shallow DOF. Unfortunately, I don't count people or animals as objects. So to me, as great as the photo is, it doesn't meet the challenge of "Everyday Objects". (Maybe if the title were "Andy the Acorn gets eaten", then the squirrel wouldn't be the subject and thereby the 'object', but by the title, I assume your subject is the squirrel.) |

Dirty Windshieldby GeneralEComment: OMG... that is a windshield!? Cool abstract. It's a nice departure from most of the other entries which so far have all been more "usual" presentations of the subject. I wonder if a lot of post processing was needed to give it the surreal contrast and color? |

Pinnedby strangeghostComment: This is a fantastic composition. The lighting is excellent too, just right to highlight the transparent plastic but smooth and even. It's a bit grainy, but maybe that's the intended style. I might like it even more if it were really smooth and neat, but the graininess really works pretty well with the monochrome tones here. I predict top 50 for this one, if not better. 9 |

Amongst Friendsby K-RobComment: Very nice! I love the color of this image. The lighting feels warm and smooth, as if at sunset. The tree is mysterious, and leaves the viewer wondering what is on the trunk. |

The Toothbrushby EPhotoComment: The pic is really small, it would be much better at a bit larger size. However, the color and DOF are great. Nice lines provided by the toothbrushes, but the far end of the handles are a bit close to the edge of the frame with the yellow one seeming to touch it, which sort of throws off the balance to my eye. |
