| 06/15/2004 03:42:40 PM | IS MY BLUE RIBBON IN THERE?by DoylieComment: Meeting the challenge: 4/5, technique/composition: 2.5/5, total score (rounded up): 7. The caption doesn't really add to this photo, but happily, I don't judge that :) If you draw a line down the center of the photo from top to bottom, I *really* like the right half. Too badd that the man on the left is blurred... the expression on the horse's face really captures waiting... |
| 06/15/2004 03:39:58 PM | 1776by letheComment: meeting the challenge: 0/5, technique/composition: 2/5, for a score of 2. I don't understand the concept for waiting. The overall composition of the photograph isn't bad, although I think the path would have looked a bit better if more to the left of the photograph. The photo appears a bit under-exposured. |
| 06/15/2004 03:38:18 PM | Cookie monsterby grosmongolComment: Meeting the challenge: 1/5, technique/composition: 5/5, for a total score of 6. I quite like the photograph, which conveys 'hungry' to me more than 'waiting', which I can get from the caption, but not from the photograph on its own. Great catch of a photo.... | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/15/2004 03:36:54 PM | Just waiting for night fall.by cathysappComment: meeting the challenge: 1/5, composition/technique: 4/5, for a total score of 5. I quite like this photograph; however, it doesn't give me a strong sense of waiting, and I wouldn't have had any at all without the caption. |
| 06/15/2004 03:35:34 PM | About to witness the "Transit of Venus"by jjbeguinComment: meeting the challenge 1/5, technique/composition: 4/5, for a total score of 5. I rather like the silhouette effects, and the lens and solarflares are quite nice. Unfortunately, without the caption, this one doesn't scream 'waiting' to me, although I understand it. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/15/2004 03:33:52 PM | Ready to Blossemby TikicharmComment: 1/5 for meeting the challenge, 2/5 for technique, composition - total score, 3.. The composition is quite nice, but the depth of field is so shallow that elements of the subject are blurred; the overall contrast seems a bit too high, and the background a bit too dark. |
| 06/15/2004 03:31:46 PM | Somewhere In Timeby itsjavaComment: 3.5/5 for meeting the challenge, 3.5/5 for technique. I like this photo in black and white! |
| 06/15/2004 03:30:25 PM | Waiting for the Free Busby gajmajComment: 3 out of 5 for meeting the challenge, 2 of 5 for the technique/composition.... while the blur of the bus creates interest, the blur of the left hand human being is a bit distracting... | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/15/2004 03:28:47 PM | Next Customer, Pleaseby admart01Comment: He sure does seem to be waiting :) 4/5 for meeting the challenge, 3/5 for technique and composition. Overall photo is a bit dark; cropping seems a bit close side to side. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 06/15/2004 03:27:28 PM | Over Here! No Waiting!by flip89Comment: Rating: 3/5 for concept (aka meeting the challenge), and 3/5 for technique, for a score of 6. If you had rotated yourself to be to the left of the port-a-potty waiting line, perhaps you could have cut out some of the distracting left hand background? | Photographer found comment helpful. |
