:) hehe .. nah it's not me. I took that shot with my camera in my hands.
I saw this guy walking around and I could tell that it was his first time in this part of Ireland. He wasn't Irish. I can't be sure where he was from. Most likely, he was American (just thought he was).
What made me enjoy the moment was that he surely was after good light and he used his energy and time to wait for it. He walked around and went down the steps to get the best angle.
I was photographing the same thing (a boat) from where this was taken from.
He left after this shot. I could see that he didn't have much time. I am almost certain that if time allowed him to stay there, he'd have been more than happy to spend his whole day at this spot.
I was observing him. I always observe how others approach the same thing. I do learn a lot from getting an idea of what others see and how they move. There's no one person who can see it all.
So, the shot is a result of me watching a passionate photographer. Message edited by author 2006-08-25 17:17:27. |

Way To Goby gsalComment: So it was you!
I did look at the this image many times during the challenge and liked it a lot. But there was something that I wished wasn't there, and yeah, I do know that it's life and how things happen and it's something you didn't set-up. I wished that the family in the background was a bit blurred. I do see what else is going in the frame, including the boy and what he's doing, but I wished that girl at the front was the main focus and the rest was what you observed later. It does work that way even now, but very soon, my focus also goes to the background and the family. I don't think they play an important role in the shot.
So, instead of a 10, you got a 9 from me. |

At the Bar!by amberComment: Know what .. I am am finding this very strange since I have not seen an Irish pub outside Ireland. It looks totally weird. Even though it says Kilkenny + Irish Pub .. it looks alien to me. Now havng said that, I am not Irish either!
But I have been living in Ireland for a long time and am quite used to what's here ...
Good thinking .. funny in an irish way ..
Also, it's common here :) |
