Bloomingdales Candid 1by smellyfish1002Comment: This is definitely another of my favorites from the week. I love the background in this shot -- both the face and the slanted grey, cutting through the white. The portrait itself is very nice. Your subject really pops out of the background, and I think that's what makes the shot. The left side of the image seems to fade off pretty dark, and I'm not sure if that was intentional. 9. |

Dixie in Decemberby rll07Comment: This really seems like an old navy ad to me... or maybe a christmas card! It's probably because of the border. You probably don't want to hear this, but without the blue border, I'd think this shot was incredible... and I'd probably give it a 9 or a 10. Without the border, it's a really artistically original idea. I love that the dog is just sitting there, head-on, like he's having his portrait done. Ooh... another analogy. Without the border, this looks like a mac 'switch' ad. I've lost my mind, and it appears your comment section is taking the hit for that -- sorry! :D |

Christmas Time Is Hereby jenaromComment: WOW. If this were in a magazine, absolutely no question would I think the ball was airbrushed. The effect you've acheived here is really amazing -- two (maybe even three) completely different and yet all incredible textures that would work well on their own... but work even better together. I love the white space. |

one yellow eyeby BadPiggComment: A shot like this begs you to stare at the center object -- and when I do, I see the reflection of the photographer. Without much experience on things like these, I'm not sure how to tell you to fix it. The composition is a very good idea, though -- with the yellow on yellow. I'd prefer to have the object perfectly centered in the background (right now, it's low and maybe slightly to the left). |

Maybe I Can Sneak Into DPC2by GeneralEComment: Hilarious and a really outstanding shot. I'm very interested to know what type of camera you took this with, as the focus and color just seem so vivid. Great job. 9 |

Abstract Martiniby AleciaComment: Definitely my favorite shot from the week. I do have two criticisms -- 1) I wish the stem of the glass were straight... the whole thing is tilted to the left and is off-balance in the shot. 2) I'm not crazy about the border, especially where the blue bleeds into the image. I know 2-color borders aren't currently allowed by the rules, but slap a 1 pixel white or black border on the inside of your blue border, straighten up the glass a little, and I promise to buy a print of this one when we offer the service. I love the colors and shapes and light and mood of the shot too much to let my criticisms lower the score -- 10! |

Last Year's Resolutionby myqylComment: This shot is hilarious, and it's also technically outstanding. I love the dark, mistreated feel of the whole photograph. Great job. 9. |

Flower Girlby SonifoComment: Very cool choice to use a square framing on this shot -- I think it really balances the composition well. The background is a little close to the skintone of the girl for me, but still an overall great shot. |

Merry Kissmas!by karmatComment: So simple. So good. I love that even the kiss itself is slightly blown out. 10. |
