I like this. It has a very unbalanced feel to it (color on the right, BW on the left) and very much an "edgy" photo (no pun intended). The bokeh is sooooo smooth and the lighting perfect. A magical photo. Bumping up.

Winter garden

There is something very nice about this image that I just can't put my finger on. It's a wonderfully nontraditional flower (or whatever), so it's unusual and captures my attention. It's off-centered, cropped composition is very nice and works well IMO. The de-focused background compliments perfectly, and I believe adds significantly to the impact of the picture. Overall, I'd say it's one of the more technically perfect images in this challenge, and should do well. Very nice.

The background is surreal, the flower (?) in the foreground is tack-sharp. Very nice! Voters will probably pound you for not removing the grain but I like it very much just like it is. Bravo!

The Psychedelic Experience

I love guitar shots and yours is an excellent job. There is much here for the eye to feast on. The multi-colored lights in the background are a treat and the reflection of the lights on the strings/fretboard are a touch of genius. I wish more of the guitar in the foreground were sharply focussed, giving the eye a natural "home base" to return to. Still, the bokeh kicks ass.

Captures the intent of the challenge very well, imo. My quibble is that there seems to be something to the left of the focussed bulb that is partially obscuring the bokehed blob just to the left. That and the partially obscured blob to the right add a distracting element to an otherwise excellent shot. An excellent entry.

Love this portrait. It looks so natural, like a moment caught in passing, freezing in time a fragment of priceless memory. Your model is beautiful, the tilt feels "right" and the background is fuzzily indistinct and just.... perfect. A winner in my opinion.
