I didn't think much of this at first glance, but it has really grown on me. Very simple and elegant - the kind of picture I often striive for. I think your shallow dof really works well, and I love the choice of BW. I was initially going to give a 6 but I decided it's one of my favorites in the challenge. 8!

Is that a stylus? Holy smokes Batman, how many of the members of DPC are actually old enough to remember these? Very well conceived but I wish the record surface was blacker. It's very shiny and reflective, but that whitish cast is distracting.

An exceptionally beautiful building, and a very nice picture, but it feels rather like you found the current challenge an excuse to take a photo you really wanted to take (pardon if I'm off base here). It's hard to see a building as an "object."

The black backdrop, the exposure, the glow, the crop: they all work for me. After viewing too many remote control shots in this challenge, your phone shot was a welcome surprise!

Very nice. I didn't know they made those in colored plastics. The shallow dof works well for me in this image, and I like the white surface/lighting/shadows effect.

A beautifully sharp and detailed image of a device we all use every day, but almost never see. The lighting and photographer's angle are very well done and the sharpness is just right. I like the green circuit-board background and I assume the 1's and 0's on the disc are a reflection you created by hoisting some sort of a backdrop for that purpose. Very well thought out and nicely executed.

Nice repetitive symmetry, and very nice textures on the pencils. The soft lighting works well but I wish it were a bit brighter, though it looks like you were narrowly avoiding some burned out areas already. Nice response to the challenge.

I love this image! though I think you didn't realize its potential. The shallow DOF probably works a little against you. the inlaid patterning around the hole is probably beautiful and would have worked nicely if it was at least partially focused. Outstanding response to the challenge!

Very cool concept! The shallow DOF works against you though, I think. I'd like to see the foreground bubble sharp all the way around. One of the more creative responses to this challenge though, nice going!
