Your composition is an idea which has been tried many times, but you managed to make it work. My eye is drawn to the simplicity and beauty suggested here. The lone leaf hanging from the flower is the only weakness, IMO, but maybe it also adds a bit of interest. Nicely done!

This is a great compositional approach. The frame might be a little bit overdone but the idea of the flower rising out of the bottom of the frame, suggesting sunrise to me, is exceptional.

A wonderfully simple idea - executed with elegance and style. I'm impressed by how well your choice of background colors works. Very nice.

Simply stated, powerfully beautiful. Elegant and effective. I'm a sucker for a simple composition on a black background. Your lines and angles are great. Maybe a bit more negative space (de-centered subject) would have made it even more powerful. Excellent job! 8

There's something about your photo that really works. It's simple, yet has a number of very compelling elements that reward closer inspection. The purple hues of the stems and flower, the beautiful greens, the nearly concealed yellow bloom (?), and the contrast of the tack-sharp web against the softly blurred background... I could go on. Excellent vision to have seen this and made it work as well as you did. 8.

A beautiful shot of this lilly but I think you cropped it a bit too close. Good clarity and lighting though...

Overall a very nice shot, one that I would certainly like to emulate. However, I think you could have done more with levels, curves and contrast. For example, the blue sky and clouds should "pop" a bit more. The mountains along the horizon should also stand out a bit sharper. With the advantage of advanced editing rules, you can do these things and not compromise the integrity of your photo.

Too small. I think your choice of subject is very nice, but you needed to use the space allowed to make it really stand out.

The composition is nice and I like the subject spilling over the frame. Your greens seem a bit off though, and the busy background is sort of distracting.
