Alien Eyeby artvetComment: Perfect focus, great DOF isolating an individual feature on an already small subject - fantastic work.
This is a fantastic shot, textures of the skin, the detail on the eye, the expression are all awesome. A small gripe about the BG, I think it would be even more striking on black, red or orange, the neutral gray definitely does not hurt though.
Nice to see a different sort of macro - refreshing. Good luck for the challenge! One of my few 10s

Cinnamon Swirlby shutterphunkComment: Well you've thrown the 'avoid centred composition' rule out of the window, and it has worked BRILLIANTLY! :)
Great tones on this one and the cinnamon stick pattern is incredible. I would have perhaps gone with a slightly shallower DOF and I think the cinnamon sticks are a little over saturated/sharpened? Either way I think this is a great shot, and it's really refreshing to see something original in the macro challenge.
A 9 from me - best of luck.

Net Shot Gerbera Xby banmornComment: Interesting rhythm and pattern created in this shot, lovely complimentary yellows and purples and although I feel this image could be slightly sharper around the drops I think it's terrific. Original take on the classic flower shot, 9 from me and best of luck.

Nightvisionby gothgirl83Comment: A 1 from me for a number of reasons.
1) Image is too small
2) Image appears to not fit the challenge (not a macro)
3) With the inversion comes complete loss of all details.

Summer Blueberriesby rscorpComment: The colours are a bit toned down and neutral, but I like the textures here. Terrific sharpness on this image and there's something about it which is understated that I like.
A 7 from me and good luck

...Pinheads Everywhereby RKTComment: Social commentary? ;)
I like this take on the challenge, although some of the foreground elements are a little distracting. I would have maybe placed the focus on a nearer pinhead?
It's very refreshing to see something like this in the macro challenge so thanks for breaking the monotony ;)

Lemon Anatomyby PascalComment: Great tones and gradient background. A DPC classic here that you've executed well.
G'luck for the challenge

Javaby MinutiaComment: The lighting is a little "hot" for my liking. There're a lot of hotspots created by the direct lighting. To fix this you might want to diffuse the light onto the coffee more.
The lighting aside, I like the rhythm and texture in this shot, I would have perhaps chosen a more extreme angle and got a slightly shallower DOF to put the focus on a particular coffee bean and imply said rhythm and texture as opposed to making it more of a focal point like you have here.
A nice idea, but some technical points let you down a little. Hope my comment helps :)
