A Classic Loveby JudiComment: Truly a fine piece of art.
THIS is what photography is all about.
DPC needs to fix something - I tried to fav it again and it won't let me.

Self Portrait by CalliopeKelComment: Your best SP ever.
The tones here and the clarity of your eyes are perfect.
43? And? You're still a kid.... |

Heading Outby BradComment: Originally posted by neophyte: Underated......That photos like this receive mediocre score is IMO what's wrong with DPC. Great comp but more importantly it seems to make a connection with this viewer anyway. Anyone who's haunted the beach until dusk will relate to this on some level. To me its like knowing that the summer's going to end as does the day and trying to squeeze out a little more fun, one more wave, one more beach volleyball game, one more dip in the ocean, before the long winter ahead. Bittersweet or maybe I'm just crazy, but that's what I see. Great image. Dex
I was born on the wrong coast...... |
Thanks Dex.
Nice to know someone "got it" and I appreciate the fav.
A lot would change around these parts if we all had time to sit and think of the story behind a picture and perhaps put one's self into the scene, imagining what it would be like to have been standing there when the shutter was clicked. Images are deeper than a 3 second glance. |

$120,000.00by Art RoflmaoComment: Originally posted by Joey Lawrence: I was disappointed with this lens because it didn't have IS for hand-held shots for macros of flowers |
You are supposed to shoot the flowers that aren't moving!

busicard4 copy.jpgby zackdezonComment: First impressions:
Text alignment. The word Photography is jsutified right, lined up to the edge of the right picture, yet the email, phone & website seem odd centered.
I know it's a smugmug site, but it's a shame there is a gmail email address - sort of rings to the less than professional side of things.
The images - too lined up maybe, with the portrait in the center being a big too big by comparison to the others. Borders or drop shadows can help make them less sterile there.
Here's what I did based on what you had and ran with it a bit:

Sort of a balance by imbalance.
Just a 10min dabble...

Reflections in spoons by IreneMComment: (pressing my automated playback response button)
Congrats on yet another Blue Irene!
Now, come join us in capturing the real world around us. There's all sorts of cool stuff out there like water, landscapes, people, colors, natural abstracts stuff, flowers, feathers, oh heck you are hereby limited to photographing cardboard boxes in a pitch dark room.

Handsome in Velvetby bergiekatComment: Should have moved that branch that is covering up the back leg.
