Oh! What a WONDERFUL week I’m having, can’t even begin to tell you how totally chuffed I am!! Thanks for the ribbon, the comments and the favourites – and the GREAT score.

This is another set-up which has been on my to-do list for ages, so this challenge gave me a chance to try it out.
Built up my makeshift light-tent, which consists of four upturned wine glasses with a sheet of glass on them and a white piece of cloth draped over the lot.
I printed out 3 sheets of chequered paper on photo paper. Then taped the sheets together for the background. I soon found out that the background pattern didn’t reflect properly in the spoons (I bought two spoons especially for this experiment because my cutlery is pretty scratched and in basic you can’t clone out imperfections). I taped the spoons to the top of glass tumblers to hold them in place.
Anyway, I printed out another sheet and held it over the spoons. That made all the difference – the patterns were great, depending at what angle I held the chequered paper above them.
The biggest problem was holding the paper in one hand and holding the camera in the other (I have one arm like Popeye and the other like Olive Oil ;-)
I did hundreds of photos (even lay a blue transparent under one of the spoons, it also gave an interesting effect).

Congratulations on another Blue! Your work is so wonderful and I really appreciate your sharing the setup and details of the shot - you have the patience of a saint, even if you have the vocabulary of a sailor! I probably would have given up after the first 50 shots! :-D.

Thanks, Sandy. I know the final result seems so smooth and easy but I promise you I can't count the times I've also felt like the worlds worst snapshooter.

Was browsing through and just HAD to stop and leave a comment!! This is glorious, wonderful, and downright stunning! Makes me wonder if you sit around all day and look at things up close for long periods of time to see if you can get something interesting out of them or if they just fall into your creative "vision" :) I smell a ribbon. If it doesn't ribbon, it will be a shame. Simply beautiful!
