What did that take - 15min to do? *snicker*
A different look that's for sure.

Ok, this is completely freaky.
I've been playing with hand-coloring lately and saw a shot similar to this somewhere on the web and was playing with
njsabs2323's picture as well, then saw you your version on the recently commented on page.

Twilight zone material here...

Tilts in portraits really can make or break the shot.

Again popped her out a bit, erasing back the background. Warming filter applied again, erasing back the teeth to keep 'em white, then applied a glow with a saturation bump in it, erasing back here eyes and mouth at about 50% before flattening the image.

----- Before --------- --------- After -------

Don't hesitate to jump on black & white here too:

Only thing I'd say not to lose in the conversion is the highlights in her hair.

Very similar to the PP of IMG_7663.jpg, but the colors here were just a bit odd.
I ended up doing a slight CCW rotation, rebuild of blank canvas areas after the crop, then obviously a toned b&w conversion.

Might have helped to add:

Nice pose, but overall it's kinda' "flat". I applied a luminosity gradient to lighten the top a bit more from the upper left, erasing back in her arm in the lower left to bring it back. I applied an overall boost in saturation, contrast & brightness to pop it a bit more, added a warming tone to help the skin color, erasing her teeth back to no warming, then did a light vignette to focus the brightness on her. You know, the old 2min edit thing...

That's about $12,000 - 15,000 worth of Cockatoos here in the states.
Crazy to think they are wild there and are also protected by law, even though they can wipe out crops like locusts.

LOL (sure makes the recent comments page whacky)

oh yeah - the shallow DoF here really pops the subject nicely.

Truly beautiful - congrats on this exceptional piece of art.
Can't think of a single thing to improve it other than to add to my favs! (edit for spelling - duh)
