Superb placement/composition. Nice soft lighting really worked well for you - holding the colors very nicely. Shoud finish way on up there.

Nice stopped action and super colors against the black background. The light glare on the front of the glass is a bit distracting - but not enough to keep you from being way high in the pack. Great job.

Greetings from the Critiquee Club.

You have a very graphic pattern with some excellent shapes and lines. I'd guess the sculpture itself is what attracted your attention, so let's see what might make the image a bit stronger.

First - since the sculpture is the subject - why not try shooting it as a vertical, thereby eliminating the space on both the left and right side? I'd also trying moving in a bit closer so you could shoot more "up" but still placing the top of the metal close to the top of the frame. The weed patterns under the schulpure don't bother me at all, but the weed that crosses through the left leg and is visible above is a bit distracting.

Another way to improve the image would be to use the full tonal range. For an "old fashioned" black and white - it's always best to have some really deep blacks (which you do) and some relly white whites (which are missing.) The lightest area of the image are pretty gray.

So - try those few things and see if you llike it better. Although it's not the "real thing" done in camera - I did some of the same work in PS. Thanks for sharing youir image.

I'm not sure what the circles are - but the image is really magical. The colors don't suggest Christmas to me - but I don't let titles affect my judgement. The strong black/white border really grabs too much attention from an image that can certainly speak for itself.

Your soft muted colors add to the effect of impressionism, but the subject has little emotional impact for me. The strong white area at the top draws way too much attention.

I can certainly see this as a 20x30 - hanging on a lobby wall of a major big-city office building. Well done - and very appropriate for the impressionistic challenge.

You have an extremly strong entry - the fog is magical! It's not that "painterly" when compared to some others - but it is more "camera realistic" than most. The road? in the bottom bothers me a bit as it isn't needed to make your statement. Finally - a small point - I'd like to remove the seagull on the left - leaving just a triangle of three of them.

A simple subject done in an extremely effective way. This looks more like a painting than most of the ebtries - I really hope it does well.

You have created an extremely effective "painterly" look with this classic image of America. To me, it's a combination of a Norman Rockwell subject painted in the impressionistic style. Suberly done and I sure hope it ribbons.
