I like it, it really captures everything I like about marshes. Wide, flat, and soggy but with lots of water, spreading into pools that do wonderful things with light.

I didn't see this last time I looked through here. My immediate impression was that if I'd taken it it I would have shifted the frame a little to the left. But maybe I'm just looking for things to complain about. It's beautiful. Even the concrete structure of the wall reminds me of childhood.(Not that long ago)

Or you could always ignore the above and go with this:

I'm surprised this didn't do better. I love it, but as you probably worked out it isn't quite glossy enough to score well(don't get me wrong I like glossy too).

As you say that every aspect of the shot was intentional I think you succeeded admirably in what you set out to do.

Looking at it a bit longer, I think that there is a deep cruelty and pathos here that would probably stop me from hanging this up.

I really like the concept here, but I feel that the lighting was far too harsh for the subject. There's a child -like innocence lying in the photo that could easily be brought oout if it weren't for the prison wall spotlight effect you have. Now I find lighting very difficult: I don't have any, but a couple of lamps or simply shooting outside on a cloudy day (perfect for still life) would really have boosted your score.

BTW thanks for your comment; I completely disagree with you, but it's a matter of opinion.

I doubt fleas can see that clearly. In fact they definitely can't. An amorphous blob of warmth would have been far more accurate, you deserve a 1 for your complete lack of pedanticism but I'll up it to a 6.
