Shooting straight down the trail draws the eye fine, however there is no place for it to go -- the trail just ends with no indication that it continues on past that point. If the shot had been taken at a bit more of an angle, say with the trail travelling from the lowever left to the upper-right third corner, the trail would attempt to draw the viewer in even further with the appearance that it continues.

Nice scenery -- a little dark, but nice. However, with the flower as the primary point of interest, it would have been better (I think) with it more forward facing.

I like the curves of the lines and the contrast between the regular and rigid pattern of foreground and the complex patterns of barely controlled chaos in the background. I do not see how the drop-shadow border added to the composition however.

Good DOF and detail, but I think giving the eyes more contrast would have helped. I am not too crazy about the tilt and cropped ears either, but it was obviously intentional -- so be it.

Very nice colors, with good contrast between the various shades of pink and red. But I do not see much composition in the arrangement.
