This is a dandelion gone to seed. Simple, yet perfectly symmetrical. I resized, curves, levels, and sharpened.

The dark speck on the left is the only real distraction.

The cropping is excellent, and the background is interesteing - having the colors in it compliments the monochromatic subject nicely. I'd like to see more sharpness in the foreground to bring out the intricate detail in it.

Good idea and the contrast between the white subject and colored background works great. But maybe a deeper DOF (including the closest parts) would have been better? In any case, I would have edited out that distracting dark speck on the left of the flower.

I've been working on photographing these things myself recently, and have never yet found the 'full cloud' effect very promising as a photo (and I'm afraid you haven't chaged my mind). I'm certain there is some interest to be found there, but still it remains a mystery - I think perhaps those spines of the seeds are too fine to really show any shape through light, and that doesn't make promising territory for photography. I do like tthe DOF here though, and there is a certain near-abstract quality to that 'cloud' that is quite pleasant. All the intersting shots I've seen have involved heads with at least half of the seeds removed - I can recommend trying that approach.

interesting shot. That spot on the left hurts a bit.

Ahh, ahh, choo! After you say 'gesundheit', you'll see that I like this pic... macro shots of seasonal items come off pretty well, and this is done very nicely.

I think the composition would be more interesting if it weren't dead center. Great focus and DOF. Little piece of something is annoying on the left side.

Nice colors and design, but the center of the flower should've been in focus and not the sides. And with advanced editing, the speck of black should've been removed, it is distracting.

I like the shallow DOF for what it does to the background, but I wish more of the dandilion was tack sharp.

unfortunately, my eye keeps getting drawn to that black thing on the left of the flower, otherwise a nice shot.

Unique and fascinating view point with an eye for detail. I like the contrast of intricate focus of the dandelion with the blurry background.

Great dof. Not sure about the composition though, there's nothing unusual about it, I think because the flower is so centered.
