Dark Dayby agbertComment: I guess I'm lost here from the beginning with the subject. It doesn't hold my interest. On my monitor, which I routinely calibrate, I can see exactly three colors: Black, White; and a mid tone. These don't allow for any texture (except in silhouette) which would hold my interest. Sorry, it's just an opinion. Hope others comment to give you a broader view. |

What burns your flameby Prime_TimeComment: On my monitor which I routinely calibrate, I can see none of the detail that would make this a spectacular capture. The flame is blown out and the dark areas have lost all detail. IMO greater subtlty with exposure and/or post processing would have helped. I'm not very good at this so it's just an opinion but it doesn't light my fire. |

Liquid colourby aKiwiComment: Nicely captured abstract pattern. Good job on the focus and DOF. Colors make my teeth hurt. |

The Dark Halfby magicshutterComment: I've probably spent more time looking at this photo than any other so far. It is an interesting image, a bit disconcerting. I can imagine a number of magazines that would publish it for a variety of purposes. In the DPC forum, it is a bit risky and I would be surprised if it scores well. But I like the fhat you're willing to take risks. Good job. |

Sunset Surferby Mark of SRQComment: This doesn't hold my interest. The idea is good, but I would score it higher if I could see more of the context of the shot and if it were all in sharp focus. That may not have been your intent, but it's my opinion. |

Green eyesby JinjitComment: Nice snapshot of the youngster. I like the shape of the fabric pattern and the placement of head and eyes in the frame. Flash seems a bit harsh and the shadows it creates are a bit distracting. If it were me, I'd try shooting with ambient light and see if it softens the harshness. Just my opinion. |

Boundby BobsterLobsterComment: Nice subject. Nice high key capture. There are some distracting artifacts along her left side (right side from our view point). Also there's a pretty harsh line along her leg that looks like a shadow from something supporting her. These spoil an otherwise worthy entry IMO. |

Colorsby moviemanComment: Nice abstract colors. Interesting DOF. But inthe end, the subject doesn't hold my interest. |
