I expect that the full size photo is very good but that you lost a lot when you resized it. There as several things that could have been done to make the resized photo look better. The focus looks very soft in this photo, most likely this happened during resizing, try using USM after resizing to sharpen it up a bit. The photo also could have be resized to a larger size then this, using the full 640 will get you higher votes. The last point is try saving it at a high quality setting, this seems to be suffering from jpeg artifact due to too much compression.

The lighting looks pretty flat in this photo, I know there is not a lot you can do about that. We kind of lose the surfer against the rocks. Again I know you did not have control of this but I think this would be a whole lot better if he was facing us.

I like everything about this photo. I love the contrast between the yellow and the blue background. I like that gradation in the lightness of the background. I love the luminous feel to the whole photo, very well done.

I think this is a great photo and am very happy to vote it a 10. I do think that it could look just a bit better with a bit of USM. It looks like it has the normal bit of softening from resizing. Every think else about the photo is so good that this become a very minor point.

Well it is a nice enough snow photo but to be honest it kind of looks like a quick snap. As snow photos go it is not all that interesting, at least not to me.
