Pretty, but too fuzzy

You have a great composition here and a good subject but the shot is a little soft - or it was a small shot enlarged? Love the yellow foliage, but you will get hammered due to the quality element of the pic.

I like the contrast of colors, the blue sky the yellow of the tree. The detail in the shadows are also excellent. However I would have rated higher if the foreground tree were in better focus.

Great shot, but as I'm sure you know, it's a little soft. Nice compotion and use of color.

Needs to be sharper.

This is out of focus and the colors are not nearly as vibrant as they could be.

I expect that the full size photo is very good but that you lost a lot when you resized it. There as several things that could have been done to make the resized photo look better. The focus looks very soft in this photo, most likely this happened during resizing, try using USM after resizing to sharpen it up a bit. The photo also could have be resized to a larger size then this, using the full 640 will get you higher votes. The last point is try saving it at a high quality setting, this seems to be suffering from jpeg artifact due to too much compression.

Nicely composed image, however out of focus and grainy. Colours are flat as well.

oh, what a beautiful place. i hope you are not getting overlooked in this super-sized challenge, and that you are getting some good feedback. i like what you've attempted here, but think that your focus is letting you down. there are some things you can do in photoshop to actually bring out your background, and i would suggest that you continue working with this. as it is here, it is so-so, but with a little work, i think you'd have something that would look great on a wall. good luck with this, and the challenges yet to come!

Rather fuzzy.

needs better focus, sorry

This is a bit out of focus. I think it would have also been improved by getting a different angle so you could see more of the desert.

Seems a little flat and out of focus to me, but I like what you have tried to do with the composition.
01/20/2005 03:30:59 PM
Slightly out of focus.
01/19/2005 09:05:31 PM
Focus seems off and the sky could use some smoothing. Nice colors though.
01/18/2005 09:39:23 PM
Well composed and good color. However, nothing is really in focus and it is kind of noisy.
01/18/2005 09:34:09 PM
Looks a lot like the San Raphael Swell area in Utah.
01/18/2005 09:29:56 AM
very low quality although nice composition of sorts.
01/18/2005 06:51:45 AM
Stunning scenery, but lack of focus spoils it.
01/16/2005 10:32:00 PM
This shot is kind of blurry, even the foreground tree, which I assume you meant to have in focus. The sky looks noisy and the background mountain is too dark. Sorry for the negative assessment.....
01/16/2005 03:15:00 PM
very much out of focus or camera shake
01/16/2005 02:10:45 PM
Very nicely composed, but both foreground and background are out of focus.
01/16/2005 11:54:10 AM
This image is too blurry and grainy, the composition could be improved by following the rule of thirds.
01/16/2005 01:47:06 AM
Seems either very low resolution or out of focus. Looking closer it looks like maybe it's an artistic filter, but I don't think it benefits the image.
01/16/2005 12:23:39 AM
Nothing seems to be in focus in this image...
01/16/2005 12:07:49 AM
You have to focus sharper.
