 U.S. Navy Sea Hawk overshadowed by a massive fireball from a nearby explosion.

I adjusted the levels and then adjusted the blacks, whites, neutrals and reds using selective color. I also cloned out a communication antenna that was a little distracting. I wanted to take out the truck on the right and a couple of the soldiers but I didn’t want test the limits of the new editing rules.

I've had to come back and study this shot a few times to really appreciate it.
The composition and detail are good and is of a very powerful photojournalistic nature - refreshing in this challenge. Well done ((8))

this is an image that will not gently fade away. very evocative. i hope this isn't getting overlooked in this monster challenge, and that viewers are giving this the time necessary to appreciate it. thanks for sharing. good luck with this, and all the challenges yet to come!

The coolness factor of this shot earns it at least a 6 in my book. Suggestions... May have been better with the bottom halves of the people in the picture.

Whilst I agree it is a very dramatic scene, there is too much going on behind the rotor, it detracts from the cross itself.

really interesting composition. The figures at the bottom show the sclae of the smoke plumes, which really adds drama to the image.
