dappled dandyby 2mccsComment: The interplay of the shapes of stone and the shadows is most delightful, but the blur of orange on the right side deconstructs the image for me. Still an engaging submission for this challenge. Five from me. |

my corner spaceby jgirl57Comment: ::chuckling softly:: Isn't it interesting? We have all these electronic gadgets and STILL rely on pen and paper to make our notes. My monitor looks the same - bristling with Post-its and pieces of taped on, hand written notes. |

Line Upby Ja-9Comment: Creatively lit. A very striking high contrast image. What disappoints is the way the reflections are broken by what I assume to be the squares on the board. Nonetheless, nicely presented. |

High Rollin'by LydiaComment: Not being a dice player, I am missing the point of the toad/frog. He's a cutie but somewhat of a discordant charm amongst the other objects. Interesting collage. |

Pontoon soccer by NeatComment: What fun - the silhouettes are a perfect statement to this carefree frolic in a golden hour. |

The City of Gamesby CoryComment: Certainly an appropriate entry for this challenge - good choice. The exposure and focus are spot on. The pyramid, however, for me personally, is an oppressively heavy weight to the bottom of the frame and destroys your composition. Still the colorful and sparkly segments make it interesting to study. |

After Dinner Gamesby Nadine_VbComment: The subtle high key only contributes to this refined interpretation of the challenge. Would like to see this ribbon. |

Scent of a womanby mluComment: Personally, I consider perfume bottles to be very photogenic, and I think you did nicely with this. I was one of the sevens.
Because I'd like to encourage you to continue to explore this subject, here are some suggestions: Create lighting with a little more mood. Use silk, satin or other textures to drape or create a background. Subtly add an item of the perfume's various notes. For example if the base note is orange, maybe discreetly slip in a segment of an orange. If the top note is vanilla, maybe a vanilla bean. If it is a male-oriented cologne and one of the notes is leather, incorporate some leather. Have fun with it.
You have inspired me to dig out a vintage perfume bottle and shoot it afresh. Thanks for the inspiration!
Good luck. |
