urban oasisby mefnjComment: Too bad you couldn't have somehow worked this into the concurrent 'Abstract in Green' challenge because it features an admirable abstract quality softened by that almost invisible oasis. Talented framing effectively draws the eye down to the point of interest and defies the Rule of Thirds. I think you may have been able to crop out the top sky with no harm done to the vision of this image. This is a compelling photo for this challenge accurately defined by the title. Nice work. Good luck. |

Gulls at the damby gminkComment: Unique interpretation for this challenge. Plenty of interesting shapes and splashes of color on the distant bank. Good exposure. Nicely framed. Just wish the subject of the title, the gulls, could have been in focus. |

Bench Viewby crikComment: Initial Reaction: Wow! Powerful sky. Heartily applaud the far bank and trees angling towards an off-image vanishing point created by the benches and posts. Some folks might protest the subtle frame: I like it. Maybe I, personally, would have cloned out that teensy white box on the water between the 2nd & 3rd posts, but certainly it is nothing that detracts from the overall impressive impact of this well crafted B&W. Good luck! |

Lagoonby Alex_PetriniComment: The iridescence-like color in the water is quite striking and nicely contrasted by the rich red of the earth at the fence line to the left and splash on the right tree. Enchanting play of light. Nicely framed composition with sharp detail. Beautiful. Good luck. |

illusionsby NeatComment: The almost even distribution of the three elements - air, water, earth - is attractive. The brooding sky adds nice tension to the remarkable calm sea and soft sand. And, a nice straight horizon zaps my technical side with a little jolt of elation! Lovely image. Hope it does well for you. |

On the Sidewalks of New Yorkby chazoeComment: The fan of green is very eye-catching. The black areas, in my opinion, overpower the effect of the "fan." Their form is not complimentary to the lovely arches in the "fan" area. The little Tinker Bell of green in the lower left is discordant with both the "fan" as well as the black forms. I think your eye is very good to identify the "fan," and, personally, would have enjoyed a more isolated exploration of that form and line.
This is such a exotic shape, I do hope you share with us what it is. |

Shadowby gminkComment: In a challenge filled with plants (my own included), this abstract using metal and shadow is quite refreshing. Good luck. |

Tunnel Visionby TelephantComment: The sense of a burrow is quite pronounced and the journey via those well defined lines decorated with tendrils is pleasing, but, for me, the center vaporizes the odyssey. For me, it is too large, too OOF, and contains nothing nearly as interesting as the excellent lines directing the eye to the center of the image. I think the balance of your abstract composition is very effective; I just wish it gave me a reward once I got to the center. Valiant effort; it just doesn't work for me personally.
Please know, I am NOT voting in this challenge; only commenting.
