Holy Pyramid Scheme, Batman!by GeneralEComment: I had to stare at this one awhile just to figure out if I liked it or not, yet another dollar bill. But then it got to me. The coloring grabbed me first, and then as the message sunk into my gray matter I really took a liking to it. Creative storytelling. |

Revelationby welcherComment: I find that this has good exposure, but the blur in the foreground is excessive and throws me off. I suggest a higher f/stop for increased DOF and/or get the foreground in focus. |

Ocean Echoby puppet10Comment: Because I believe that this is an honest and artistic endeaver from someone who understands art, I am going to give my full and honest response to this photo. I think I understand the concept of negative space, but I'm not so sure that it works with this particular subject. Possibly because I don't get a great sense of depth from the subject, which leaves me with the impression of a semi-circular object in the corner of a dark frame. My attention is drawn to it very effectively (good use of negative space), but the object itself lacks the pizazz needed to keep my interest. This may simply be the lighting or it may be the physical object. Even so I score it high for artistic and creative vision, but not as high as it might have, given a better subject or a better view of this subject. |

Rat's Nestby CPatteeComment: Nice colorful composition with lots of interesting patterns. I think that a bit more could be gotten from it by applying some unsharp mask. |

Eggcellent Inventionby connieComment: Nice twist on a common item. I like how you achieve a great sense of depth with the shadows. The smooth egg contrasting with the rough carton adds a nice touch and makes the composition complete and more interesting. |

Peppersby AleciaComment: Very nice. I like the clean simple arrangement. Colors are great and there is good sharp focus. Good job! |

pretty but pricklelyby snsComment: I am particularly fond of this subject though they can make rather prickly friends. I think that the photo has good texture with nice color and great contrast. I do however find the blurry chunk in the upper right a bit distracting. These are difficult macro shots becuase the subject has so much depth, but at this distance there is very little depth of field. You might try a large aperture to increase the DOF or maybe a slightly different composition. |

Golden Maple Leafby evmariedogsComment: Nice subject and decent composition. I do have some suggestions that might improve this. I find the background too distracting and not contrasting enough with the subject. I sussest a solid color or white. The chain could wrap around and remain in the fram as another graphical element. The focus could be sharpened with some unsharp mask and could look better if the foreground were in focus. Either let the background go blurry or use a higher f/stop to increase the depth of field. |

Slide Sleeveby IsaacComment: I really like the multiple layers of texture, the material itself and the gentle rolls on the sleeve. The composition is excellent and unusual. The sharp/softness is perfect for this texture. My only nitpick would be to have a solid, soft, but contrasting background. Very good! |
