Abandonedby hokieComment: Good framing to provide an interesting view of the subject. Color, focus, and DOF work very well here. |

Still Friskyby JEFFCOWLESComment: Very creative use of lighting to make a mood and augment the image. This is one of the best I've seen in this challenge, truly outstanding! |

The Old Churchby MeggieComment: I like the view as composed, but get hung up on the angle of the red door -Vs- the angle of the tower. For me they create a tension that might not be present if composed from a different angle. One suggestion would be if possible, to use more telephoto and get farther back. This will compress the image and give a bit more emphasis to the tower. If I'm not mistaken, it will also lessen the difference between the angles of these two elements. |

Grandpa's Ice Wagonby NitenComment: Cool subject! I get a good feeling from the photo, but I also see some problems. My personal preference is to be a little closer to the subject to get some more detail. I also note that the lighting is so directional that we get a good view of the side, but the front sort of fades away. An off camera flash (if available) could be used to light up the front. This would be even more effective if fitted to an umbrella. Another way improve lighting would be to take the shot more from the front and use the on camera flash for fill. Fill flash can go a long way to improve daylight photos. The fill flash doesn't have to be at the same lighting level as the natural light, it only needs to fill in the shadow area so that the shadows are not so pronounced. |

Too Old For This Championby CPatteeComment: Although the subject didn't particularly excite me, it did give me a chuckle. I can't help but give this a great score based on it's originality and because it is a very well done photo (lighting, composition, DOF, focus, etc). |

Grumpy Old Menby tydComment: Great street shot. I would like it even more if it were cropped or zoomed in so as to bring these two in closer. |

The Interchangeableby spidermanComment: I really like this photo, it is IMO very good. The composition is excellent and the angle of lighting is quite complementary. My only (very minor) nitpick is that the lighting is too harsh, thus there are some reflections and a small burned out spot. |

Time of Death: 12:11by rdesaiComment: I like the way this is composed. Very good macro shot. Boy that thing is dirty, no wonder it gave up on living. I almost did a macro shot of a very old dead watch too. They make very good subjects. |

Atom 153by boyte1Comment: You've got my curiosity aroused to see the origin for this model. A very nice macro shot, nearly perfect save for a little burnout on the tires, windshield frame, and headlight. The angle of lighting is perfect and it seems to be even, so the only thing I can think of to correct the burnout would be to use a softbox to better disperse the light. The composition is excellent and really helps to make this photo work. This is one of my favorites so far. |
