Meby MJENNIComment: Would have liked to see mouth either in or out of pic, rather than chopped in half in this composition. Hotter light on neck distracts viewer attention from focal point of shot. Nice edge lighting on chin for good background separation. |

Driftwoodby mbardeenComment: Interesting subject matter. Would have liked to see this pic with slight rim lighting on right/shadow side of driftwood for better edge definition, but that's just me. ;) |

stone and treeby hordursvComment: Subject texture is not very interesting. Diffused light adds to a "flat" look. |

Is Curly a texture????by boyte1Comment: Rules seem to indicate texture can be shown by varying shades of light on a 3D object as well as plain old surface texture. This pic certainly has the former. Liked the carnival of colors. |

Concreteby weavercComment: Subject has lots of texture, but not much interest. Upper border with plant growth is distracting. |

Fish Out Of Waterby qmdiComment: Would have liked to see more of the rock outcroppings in background (rather than chopped off) to serve as a complete backdrop to the dead fish. Flaked-up sand around fish and small piece of seaweed distract, but don't add to overall picture. There's no penalty for placing fish head elsewhere, right? ;) |

Beak and Feathersby sitkanComment: Much of the texture goes unnoticed due to shallow depth of field. Focus seems to be on beak which doesn't hold much in the way of texture or interest. Hard shot to capture perfectly I'm sure, good effort. |

Winter's Retexturingby gradbertComment: Nice contrast and pop on this B&W. Varying shades of snow against black branches kept this pic interesting and the viewer from going snowblind. |
