Formicidae Liquidaeby Ecce_SignumComment: I think this is the biggest difference between participants and non participants I've ever had, a whopping 0.9803, by far the widest spread in the challenge. It was also the third lowest vote given by participants in this challenge.
I can only gather from this that drip/drop shots are no longer considered the route of all evil here at DPC :) That or ant like drops lol. |

storm chaser by tateComment: Jeez Tate, with an impending DPL announcement I'm doing my best to lower my average (I'm succeeding btw) and there you go with another ribbon!
Congratulations of course Sir ;) |

Snow ponyby snafflesComment: This should have been posted before rollover Susan (it was decided prior to rollover though).
It is with great pleasure that I give you this bit of ImageNation bling as an individual HM from myself. It was one of my top 5 choices but sadly my team members couldn't grasp the artistic beauty in this shot.
I like so much about this image and feel the high key effect transforms the image and allows the viewer to fll in the gaps to tell the Ponies story.
Others have mentioned the lack of pure black especially around the hooves and whilst I agree I still think this adds to the image and it's 'Artistic' value.
Well done Susan, 11th in a 'Best of' and (currently) 3 favs isn't to be sniffed at.

Snow ponyby snafflesComment: This could be a fine pencil drawing, I love how the white of the horse blends in with the background :) (+1) |

Desert Rain by ecmguyComment: So, before I started voting I told myself landscapes would not score well from me in this challenge.
There is always one exception to every rule and this is the one for me. Light, dark, texture, shape, contrast, depth. This really fits the challenge for me and my only thought would be to crop all/most of the sky out and leave more of an abstract set of shapes in a letterbox style (bump of 2 to a 9). |

Unless you open your mind and let go - thanks for this 'Art' and allowing my mind to wander for a few moments. (bumping 1) |

Delicateby gipper11Comment: Tis funny, I started voting on this challenge with quite a strict idea of what 'Art' meant to me and this particular type of shot wasn't on my 'list'.
Even guys can change their minds lol (bump of1). |

In Between by grahamgatorComment: After my first pass of voting I've returned for another look and this image has been on my screen for a full 5 minutes.
If I'm honest I'm not the biggest fan of textures however, a challenge about 'Art' changes things. There is nothing extra ordinary here but I find myself being transported into the scene and taking in unknown surroundings.
This is my pick for the blue and, if I have any influence with my ImageNation team mates there could be more bling to go along with my (big)bump to a 10. |

On the Savannaby LydiaComment: What? you have not washed your hands since August Lydia?
I prefer the original shot with the foliage however this suits the challenge topic better. Fingers (and nose) crossed that this does as well for you ;) |

batteries includedby mefnjComment: Ha, you got me with this, I'd decided these were porcelain/ceramic lids and wondered how you'd amassed so many.
Then I read the title and changed my mind lol. I like the randomness of the shapes and the different lighting across the image (7). |
