Love this Jennifer, the slow shutter speed showing the rain is excellent and whilst the girls hair is the main focus here I think a different crop with more negative space and rain might have worked better?

Coming from this thread I find it both interesting and sad that this is the first image that has 'hit' me.

Sorry to hijack your image Chromeydome but I started the above thread to try and distract myself from sitting here alone remembering the events of 2 years ago. When I viewed this image for the first time it was almost two years to the minute that I received the call from hospital that I should return as my daughter Rose was not going to survive till morning.

This is comment # 1,000 here at dpc, sadly I've renamed the image 'Cancer'

Yes, for Live music its great but would love to lose the blue mic either by cropping or preferable cloning. Unlike others I don't know the guy but his eyes certainly sing the blues! Excellent capture of time and emotion.

I get the feeling of riding on the bike with Mother and Daughter. In the UK this is is illegal so would never get a similar shot, the focus on the subjects and movement of the bike/backgound is top notch!

Joanne, am commenting from this thread. Yes, you are correct and I agree this should have scored higher! First off the exposure is top notch as is the focus and I love the bg. Technically this is a perfect shot so am thinking you may have been marked down as a 'set up' shot which of course it was, I'll never understand the dpc voters either ;)

Did you tie a thread around babies leg for the shot? A seven from me during voting btw.

Kavita, you lucky lady to have been amongst these wonderful birds! Fantastic capture, wonderful composition and whilst a 6.5 isn't to be sniffed at I think you were robbed!

The only thing I can think of to improve this shot would be if baby P's eye was a little brighter? I love it!

Brian, am coming from this thread. Yup, its a decent candid but don't be put off by those that appear worried by it, as you said, it sparked some interesting comments and thats always good (if you want to provoke emotive thoughts from an image). If I were you I'd be quite chuffed that what is really a snapshot has created these feelings.

Moi? I'm thinking she is the mother and knows that another drink for the child will mean a search for a toilet ;)

Hey Aunty Em, am commenting from this thread. Rather than sparking an emotion, its a memory, of my days in the hotel trade when I was young, free and single and had good memories. Now I'm old, free and single with bad memories :(
