Nice set up. Don't care for the color--seems to say to me that something in the case is on fire. Perhaps context would help define this more as "serendipity" as opposed to "surprise."

Petri dish needs to be more "present" (IMHO). Depth of field seems to attempt this but I don't think it pulls it off. Nice concept for the definition of "serendipity"

Outrageous color. Interesting texture. Great depth of field. Nice--but does it really say "serendipity"? Perhaps context (other than in the title) would help.

Nice capture! Both strength and power represented here. If just something or someone was crisply in focus this would get my highest mark. Difficult lighting, perhapse that causes the bright, bright lights on the uniforms? Hope you can do it again with even better results than the first.

When I asked my friends and family for a subject for this challenge this is the one they chose. I couldn't get to where there was one, so thank you! I'll point them here.

Photographically speaking, I don't feel the tipped angle of the tree trunk supports the theme so well. And, for me, the use of sepia tone detracts--I wonder did the subject need that treatment? Contrast, focus, crop,--right on as far as I'm concerned. Luck

What a subtle intensity! The side lighting and cropping seem to make this (typical?) infant pose something much more. More focus on the fist would have helped bring out the whole concept a little more. The model's a keeper! Best of luck!

There are so many right things about this photo! The light is right, the cropping, the movement, lighting, must I go on! Hope you make it to the top!

Such a quietly beautiful image! It's hard to critique this. Perhaps a sharper focus on the ant and blade--but I think the subject and depth of field make that difficult. Bumping you up on the scores for the second time.....

Sensual. Lovely lighting, color, mood. Think the cropping is slightly too tight.

Love the texture in this. Great color, depth of field, and point of view.
