nudes069_sml.jpgby DrJOnesComment: Jaded? WOW! The pictures that first intrigued me were in the darkroom in our garage in Santa Rosa in 1956... I loved the pictures my father was printing for those that could not take shots that pailed by comparison to yours, to the local drugstore... Please do keep up the EXCELLENT work! I,and many others, know that you are capturing the most beautiful 'curves' in Nature and that's coming from a fanatic road racer!
Best Regards! |

Brazilian Hottiesby RasaiComment: Thank you for your comments! A good friend & I were discussing the purple challenge and decided to take a few test pictures of the purple peppers in my backyard. We took ‘a peck of purple pepper pictures’ and decided that there was some potential there. We later resisted the temptation to use that theme in the title. We found that a blue sky with puffy white clouds made the best backdrop for cleverly placed plants (they are in pots). Shortly thereafter the blue sky turned to coastal fog blowing in for the evening so we lost that opportunity. As an alternative shooting down towards the water in my swimming pool produced pleasing results yet the DOF was a restricting issue because my pool has a Pebble~Tech finish. That contributed to the ‘noise’ which is actually compounded or created by the various colors of the pebbles in the pool finish. That evening we traveled to his house and looked at the test shots and salvaged what we could of those. As it turns out my version of PS was/is being non-cooperative and we both had very little time to post process and enter.

Uisge Beatha - The Water of Life by andywightmanComment: The slow shutter made the waterfall look just right for me; as such it suggests the smoothness of the Scotch. Basic editing kept you from making this an Excellent image as the flash highlights could have been cooled down otherwise. One of my favorites! |

Stay in Touchby photomComment: If your phone service provider has a strong signal at this location (I'm guessing California in the Sierras) please let me know who it is! If I go out of the metropolitan areas in California my signal goes away... and the only reason I need a cell phone is for emergencies! This photo 'nails' the theme of the challenge "Your job is to photograph a product and have it appeal to your audience: the users of DPChallenge." and is a GREAT photo to boot - 9 |
