Congratulations. |

Bird Out.jpgby wmprkgComment: A very colourful & interesting subject..I don`t think the light and dark areas have worked to your advantage in this shot as the eye is in the shadow area and the yellow on the beak looks to have "blown out" in the strong light..had that been reversed, I think it would have made an excellent submission.

My light will show me the way...by mandyturnerComment: I like the "different" way you have approached this.
Unfortunately, trying "different" ideas on the site tends to have it`s drawbacks..especially in challenges.
Don`t let it discourage you though !!

Shadow Play by SammieComment: Very unusual shot..almost surreal.
The dunes make an excellent subject for this particular challenge.
Congratulations on your ribbon. |

P.S. Congratulations on being my 1000th commentee! Sorry, no cash alternative. :-( |
No trick Ben..no multi layer shenanigans either...just late evening sun and a hungry herd.
Pic produced using a "VP" filter customised to suit the effect I wanted..all very simple.
I think that my special placing in your commenting order should be marked in some way.. I`ll settle for a pint sometime! Message edited by author 2005-05-24 11:14:24. |

Late evening snackby geewhyComment: Thanks for the comment Thamer, and the answer to your question is ..yes,
I have an alternative version with more sky, less foreground but IMO it doesn`t have the same impact. It tends to draw the eye away from the subject. |

Drummerby pitsamanComment: One of the best pics I`ve seen on the site for some time.
The blurred drumstick adds so much vibrancy to the image.
Great stuff. |
