i have to say that the 'blood' just doesn't do it for me.
even if something came out of the egg, i don't get the blood coating it, nor the bloody footprints.

i'm sorry, i really do not get any sense of Les Miserables from this image
i get there's a wet spot on the road, but this just screams shoehorn to me.
