great image. have sat here wondering about the composition to get the star field with the "still visible sky", have decided that this is a series of time images taken with a tripod/remote shutter and stacked, masking away some of the bg/sky layers to give the fade. I don't know if I'm right, but I'm curious to find out.

I keep finding myself coming back to this image over and over, not because it's yours, but because it demands repeat viewings. I look at this and I keep looking for the name of the book or the author, it has that sense of innocence/innocence lost that you only really see the difference after going through the events with the people (characters). I'm sure this is very un-DPC, but that doesn't mean it's not a good image in- and of-itself.
