Authorityby arsenalComment: Very nice image and good thought procecss... Not sure if the focus was to be blured or not, but not a big issue for me in this case. |

Witness to the Passing of Honor – Infantry Blueby photographistComment: Thank you all for your comments and encouragement. The chance of catching the young boy, standing at near attention, completely enthralled with the newly blue young soldier, the drill sergeant and the interaction of pride between the two of them told the perfect story for me. Bassed upon the feedback, the image has touched a good many of you too.
This photo was the culmination of several emotional days as my son (not in picture) graduated from the Infantry Training Brigade at Ft Benning. During that time, and the weeks running up to Turning Blue, I learned of the significance of the [blue] rope and the honor that it symbolizes on each of these young menâ€Â¦ volunteers all. It’s one thing to be drafted, but the volunteers that come into the army, be them National Guard, Reservists or regular Army are heroes all.

Old Panesby ejonesComment: Some perspective and level changes would have helped for at least 2 points from me. I love this kind of shot. Good luck! |

Morning Preparationby JEFFJSBComment: Oddly enough, I think that I'd have prefered a static sinc w/o running water. The water gives motion to an otherwise nice still life. That said, as I imagine the water stream not being there, it becomes out of ballance? I'm not sure which would have been the better course. Great idea. |

Pondering the Grey Hues of Lifeby Catlin24Comment: I like the idea, but it could have been a bit more intimate by: 1) coming closer the young lady's face; or 2) lowering the exposure of both face/shirt and the back ground (to maintain the grey balance). |
