A Face In The Bitter Coldby TDCollinsComment: The colors look off. I kept looking at this and wondering why I was resisting liking it. It is well exposed and nostrils don't bother me as much as some other people, so that was ok. It's the lack of any visual clues as to him being in a "bitter cold" environment. He actually looks warm and comfortable.
I think this would be improved a lot as a duotone. |

thru the holeby ronragComment: low key is mostly about a mood. This picture does have a lot of dark pixels but the subject(the woman) is exposed normally, with none of the shadow play that makes low key so romantic. |

Another Black & White Entryby sir_bazzComment: Nice job on the exposure. Can't say I'm a fan of the puddle. Causes me to think of an accident. Sorry. That's probably not what the intended reaction was supposed to be. |

Rose in reflectionby TheDruidComment: The first time thru, I wondered how the rose seemed oof but now I think it's because of the mirror. Thecnically, this is a dark picture and that is partially what low key is about. However, low key also is used to give a picture a "mood". I think that is what is missing in this picture. Composition wise, the yellow flower might have been brought out of the shadow or left out altogether. |

Secret Offeringby pineappleComment: Good exposure and I think the warm tone is very fitting to this image. The range of tones on the left makes it easy to see the hand and shell, but the right side is very confusing. I think it's because of the wide band of dark placed against the small band of light on the hand. |

Twilight At Camp Coveby wibingComment: The darkness wasn't used to the best advantage. The little house blends in with the trees and rocks and becomes a large mass. Maybe using a lower angle would have brought the house up into the sky for a better profile. The horizon is tilted a bit clockwise. |

Our Right to 'Bear' Armsby YoungerComment: To me, the lighting hasn't brought out the beauty of this object. I can't form an idea of what exactly it is. Perhaps a tighter frame on just the bear would have worked. There are hot spots in areas that don't add to the frame. |

Green Jell-O Bicycleby posthumousComment: There was a lot of work put into this. The background might have been improved if the jello was placed on a clear surface and then raised above the white surface so there was a distance between the background and the jello. That way everything would look smoother. |

Saint or sinner?by naomikComment: The textures and details were captured nicely. To me, the one shoe that is cut off detracts from the overall presentation. |
