Painting with light is a really neat technique. I don't think it worked so well in this instance. Try to previsualize what you are going to draw before you start and then follow that plan till you get what you imagined. The light in the background looks like an accident that hasn't happened yet.

Good. Maybe too centered? but you did catch a good resting moment in time. Almost expect to see him/her walk out from the smoke and get back on stage. Wish there was some way to make the piano more clearly a piano. I think you are going to get a 10

I admire your attempt. Pretty hard to meter for a shot like this. I guess I would have metered more for the highlights, but that's a personal pref. Good eye.

You really tried to capture a nice one. Did you try getting more light on her? With the quilt being light, my eye tends to focus more on it than the woman. Also, IMHO, the frame detracts from the mood you have tried to create. It's like you put her picture on a button for strangers to wear. Next time, try putting a light between your camera and her and if possible, put a medium colored quilt on the bed. Even with all that said, I gave you a 7 because I do like the mood.

The tilt is a bit bothersome. She looks like a very approchable subject. I even care about her leg, want to know more about her, so, to me, this is a good photograph, if not for that darn tilt. I gave you an 8.
