This is an interesting photo, but the background is very distracting for me. Perhaps a larger aperature would be helpful?

I'm not sure why, and it it possible that part of the problem is my computer monitor, but it looks as though the entire picture has a little bit of a haze over it. I do not see a pure black in the entire picture. If you went into photoshop and tweaked it a little bit, you may be able to improve the tonal qualities of this picture.

That tree might seem desolate, but the rest of the picture is green and full of life. It's hard for me to take it as desolation with that happening
