Factsby raishComment: While I think this plaque is hilarious, and might enjoy seeing the item itself hung in an exhibit, I don't find a photograph of it at all appealing, nor do I consider the photograph to be a contribution to fine art. Just my personal take on this, of course. |

Cactus Flowerby LawtonComment: Nice contrast between the soft petals and the sharp spikes, and between the light and dark areas. The flower seems out of focus but the spikes are in focus, which is confusing given your title. Great subject for a photograph. |

HDR_bwby beekeeperComment: Interesting shapes here. I like the juxtaposition of sharper horizontal lines with the softer vertical elements. The title suggests you used some software to modify the dynamic range. I might have preferred a wider tonal range with more darker tones. On initial viewing this just seemed too gray, but it is growing on me! |

Retirement Homeby meowComment: Some lovely textures and tones here. I find the tree in front and what I assume is an part of an out of focus tree on the left rather distracting though. |

Study No. 8by tangueraComment: Fascinating image and great processing, Johanna. The 3-dimensionality of this is just amazing, I can "feel" the roundness of the lower part of the thumb and the tension of the finger tips pressing into the palm. (Not voting). |

In Spring the Eagles Returnby davidwComment: Nice textures and silhouettes. For my eyes, it appears slightly over sharpened, but the image evokes the feeling of this being a special moment. |

Crosswalkby PennyStreetComment: Lovely shot. That was interesting, just now seeing the thumbnail for the first time, the crosswalk looked as if it was a series of blocks lined up, moving away from the viewer. That area of the thumbnail was distinctly 3-D looking... or maybe my eyes are just too tired! |
